08/07 Levine v Isner
Jesse Levine is so far known for being Jewish, being a 2005 Wimbledon junior doubles champion and having beaten the highly rated future US star Donald Young two weeks ago in London. He is a small guy with fast legs, decent shots and good variety of spins, his serve is hard to return on fast surfaces as he is a leftie and troubles right-handers. He is a fast learner and he had the opportunity to learn a lot recently being added to the US Davis Cup team as a hitting partner of Roddick and also being chosen by Roger Federer for a 15-day hitting session. He has done quite well on fast surfaces recently boosting a 30-8 record and getting two Challenger titles indoors (beating Isner on the way to one of them).

His opponent John Isner is counting on huge serving and volleys and is quite clumsy from the baseline. Being tall and a big server he is destined to do well on grass, but as many other big guys he hasn't got any good wins on the green stuff. He beat Anderson recently, but failed to Mahut, Stepanek and Gulbis (all of them pretty skilled on grass). He is not good against lefties, losing his last games to Levine and Melzer.

If his serve goes great Isner can take this game, but Levine will explore every opportunity of break. Jesse will definitely rule the baseline exchanges and as he has done well in the past against big serving types and beaten Isner once already value here is with Levine.
